Exmoor Distillery partners with suppliers committed to minimising the significant environmental impact of plastic usage in protective bottle packaging. Sustainability lies at the heart of our operations, and we remain dedicated to exploring eco-conscious solutions for our daily activities and fragile item shipping solutions.

Protective Packaging Challenges

One of the primary challenges confronting small businesses is ensuring the safe delivery of fragile products to customers. Historically, plastic packaging, as depicted in the photo below, has been utilised for this purpose with bottles.
Recognising that this approach is neither sustainable nor aligned with Exmoor Distillery’s sustainability values, we advocate for the banning of such plastic packaging. It’s evident that this material serves no purpose in today’s market.

Exmoor Distillery’s Search for Plastic Alternatives

At Exmoor Distillery, our sustainability ethos, means we seek suppliers whose values align with our own eco-conscious principles. While we encountered numerous packaging suppliers boasting attractive designs, few if any offered both quality and affordability. This search for a cost-effective, eco-friendly shipping solution that also offered protection for fragile bottles proved challenging, with many suppliers imposing additional costs for eco-friendly options.

Sustainable Packaging for Alcoholic Drinks

Eventually we came across EGI’s sustainable protective packaging and entered into discussions with their friendly customer service and management team. It was clear early on that EGI possessed extensive knowledge and expertise in providing protective packaging solutions for alcohol.

The sustainable protective packaging solution from https://ezeegroupinternational.com is:

  • Made from 100% recycled materials.
  • 100% compostable
  • 100% biodegradable
  • 100% recyclable
  • Reusable in some cases
  • Approved by DPD
  • Made in the UK

EGI has proudly supported the Tree Council over the past two years as one of their Jubilee Partners. Through this partnership, they have planted 35,000 trees and 7 kilometres of hedgerow as part of The Queen’s Green Canopy initiative.

This year EGI are excited to announce their participation in a new initiative, the ‘Tree Partners’ program. Through this program, they will be supporting community tree planting, orchard establishment, and hedgerow development in city streets, urban parks, and school playgrounds nationwide.
